We would like to extend a huge thank you to the many people who attended, contributed to, and spoke at V-BRYGE 2023.
At this conference, students, young professionals, and experts in the International Relations field had the chance to connect and share ideas, with topics ranging from Chinese SEOs to global sustainable development. In an increasingly global world, we believe it is essential to foster spaces where open discussion and cultural exchange can occur freely.

Our Conference:
V-BRYGE (Vanguard-Better Relations Youth Global Exchange) Conference, co-organized by Vanguard Think Tank and the US-China Better Relations Coalition, aims at facilitating a free exchange of ideas on topics critical to China’s interactions with the world.
Under the backdrop of rapid global transformations in technology, culture, and way of life, the young generation urgently need to develop creative solutions for the unique challenges of our era. Though still adjusting to the new normal of the world in the pandemic, we must reflect on the past, understand the present, and imagine the future of China’s relationship with the world. During the past 2 conferences we’ve gathered more than 500 young professionals, students, and researchers, and more than 50 renowned speakers across industries, academia, government and non-profit sectors from the world. The conference is entirely free and open to public participation.
This third V-BRYGE conference is upcoming in April 2023, under the theme “China Through the Looking Glass" focuses on China’s Development in through three lenses: Demographics and Social Governance, Arts and Culture, and Technology and Finance.
Research
Once they join the conference, researchers are assigned a research team, according to the subtheme (Demographics, Culture, or Finance/Technology) of their interest. Over a two-week period, they will be guided by workshop leaders to define, develop and analyze their topic. The final product? A comprehensive research piece that shares their knowledge and thoughts on current affairs.
Evolving Demographics: Social Norms and Social Governance
Conference
Panel discussions, lectures, and coffee chats will be hosted by professionals over a period of three days on the following three subthemes : technology, environment and renewable energy, and global governance collaboration. Researchers will have the opportunity to both get key insights on critical issues and engage in a dialogue through a dedicated Q&A session, and attendees will have access to a range of events from intimate chats to large discussions.
Post Conference
After all of the events, researchers will be able to polish their papers using their newly acquired understanding of Chinese affairs. The top 2 papers will be published on both UCBRC’s Intercollegiate US-China Journal and VTT’s website! Speakers and other collaborators will have a chance to mentor young researchers, helping them gain nuanced understandings on China’s affairs and issues both at home and abroad.
